What are weekly worship services like?
Sunday: Come as you are for worship at 9 or 10:45 am every Sunday. Services begin and end with informal opportunities to meet and greet those worshipping alongside you. What is Sunday worship like at Advent? Warm and informal, with a varied "blended" music style at 9:00 and "traditional" style of service with hymns at 10:45. Both services are typically about one hour in length.
Music from the Advent Adult Choir or one of several ensembles adds to Scripture and responsive readings. Hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal and "Faith We Sing" supplement a prayerful exchange of joys and concerns and a pastor-led sermon each Sunday. Communion by intinction is shared the first Sunday of each month.
Children, youth, seniors and everyone in between gather for worship to experience the presence of God and to give thanks for God's faithful presence each and every day. Won't you join us? Everyone is welcome.
Saturday: A different kind of worship happens at Advent each Saturday evening at 5:00 pm. Known as "thrive", this worship experience is multi-media and includes lots of band-led music/singing, prayer, Scripture, a pastor's message,
coffee . . . and more!
